Everywhere in India, using a plastic card NECESSARILY gives rise to TWO receipts (first copy is for Merchant and it has to be there, second one is for customer) even if customer is not interested in his copy.
Looks it is only a software issue, the agency (perhaps the centralized collection center for Visa/MasterCard/Amex) running these machines could be sensitized to include the option of printing second copy ONLY if demanded by customer.
